Let’s go down memory lane and revisit 2014 – the FIFA World Cup held in Brazil.
Neither the Brazilian Samba nor the Argentine Tango could overshadow the brilliance of a young French midfielder with Guinean roots. His name: Paul Labile Pogba.
He had ice in his veins, magic in his boots, and a football IQ that could rival the greats. He could do it all – from splitting defences with tricky passes to holding the ball under pressure to shooting with precision. He was destined to become the best midfielder of his generation.
But money, fame, and countless injuries turned into a curse, and the doping scandal tarnished his legacy.
He won the 2018 World Cup as one of the finest players on the pitch. Whenever France needed him, he delivered. But at the club level, he remained a superb talent with unfulfilled potential.
Yet life sometimes gives you a second chance and Pogba gets his with Monaco. I want to see him redeem his career, to play with the same calmness and brilliance he once had. He may be 32 now, but class is permanent.
Welcome back, Paul Labile Pogba. Make it count.
