Daniel Altmaier ends Tsitsipas run at us open in a 5 set

Back-to-back five sets match wins for the current World No.56 German tennis player Daniel Altmaier at this year’s US Open Tennis Championships.! HUGE Congratulations to him👏👏

His first-round match was against 2023 Next Gen Champion Hamad Medjedovic from Serbia. That lasted for 4 hours, 49 minutes. Two days later, the German fought hard for 4 hours and 29 minutes against the former World No.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas. Towards the end, while serving at 4-5; 30-40 in the deciding set, he saved a match point to win another 5-set match. INCREDIBLE performance from him👌

Tsitsipas is a 3-time Monte-Carlo titlist and the year-end ATP Finals Trophy winner in the year 2019. For more than a year, the Greek’s form is on a steady decline. He had lost so many tour-level matches in early rounds to so many lower-ranked players since he won his last Monte-Carlo Masters in April last year.

The last time Stefanos reached the quarter-finals in a Slam event was at 2024 French Open. And the only time this year he reached the same stage in an ATP 1000 event was again at Monte-Carlo.

27-year-old Tsitsipas is ranked as low as No.27 in Live ATP rankings today. The Greek has a lot of soul searching to do regarding his attitude on and off-the court. Wish him Good Luck🙏
